Our programs emphasize not only physical fitness and artistic expression but also personal character development, confidence, and a sense of pride in Indonesia’s cultural heritage.

From beginner levels, where flexibility and rhythm are introduced, to advanced stages exploring classical and creative dance forms, our curriculum is thoughtfully structured. We also provide enriching programs that introduce makeup techniques, culinary arts, and traditional music such as Javanese Karawitan and Betawi Gambang Kromong, adding layers of cultural knowledge beyond the dance itself.

With over a decade of dedication, Griya Tari Widyarini has performed in various local and international settings, sharing the beauty of Indonesian dance with a global audience. Our annual performances, both domestically and abroad, are a testament to our commitment to preserving and celebrating the diverse traditions of Indonesia.

What does making your art, your way mean to you?

“Your art, your way – the Widyarini way” represents a journey of personal and cultural expression deeply rooted in tradition but uniquely your own.

At Griya Tari Widyarini, we believe that every dancer has their own story to tell, and through the intricate beauty of traditional Indonesian dance, particularly in the Kasunanan Surakarta style, dancers can discover and express their personal identity.

Our approach is about embracing the elegance and grace of these traditional forms while giving each dancer the freedom to explore their own creative voice, making the dance not just a preservation of culture but also a personal expression of self. Embedded in our philosophy is the idea that art is both individual and collective.

The Widyarini way encourages dancers to not only perfect the technical aspects of the art but also to imbue it with personal meaning, fostering self-confidence, emotional growth, and connection with others.

Dance becomes more than just movement; it becomes a reflection of one’s inner self while honoring the rich cultural heritage of Indonesia. At Widyarini, art becomes a celebration of individuality within the shared experience of tradition, empowering each student to take pride in both their personal journey and the collective legacy they help carry forward.
