    We, as conductors should not only provide guidance, but we also have to listen a lot more to others.
    Describe how music makes you feel?

    When I play music, I feel closer and more connected to other people/ musicians. When I conduct, it is like I'm telling a story using a unique language that can express emotions in its purest form. Music can be understood by many, even if those don't have the same background.

    Buat saya, ketika bermain musik saya bisa merasa lebih dekat lagi dan lebih connect ke orang-orang atau para pemain. Karena saat saya conduct, itu saya kayak ceritain suatu cerita atau suatu kisah yang menggunakan satu bahasa baru yang dapat mengekspresikan suatu emosi dalam bentuk yang paling murni menurut saya. Karena dengan musik itu dapat dimengerti oleh banyak orang walaupun orang-orang itu, atau para pemain, atau musisi tidak memiliki background yang sama.

    What made you want to become a conductor?

    Initially, I only played in a quartet of four, five or eight. During practice, there was no one who could lead, it was then I discovered there was such a thing as conducting. There, I tried to learn what conducting is, and how to lead an ensemble, or even an orchestra.

    Pada awalnya saya cuma main dari quartet berempat, berlima, atau berdelapan. Lalu dalam latihan itu, nggak ada yang bisa untuk memimpin gitu, nah setelah itu saya cari tahu ternyata ada yang namanya conducting. Nah di situ, saya berusaha untuk belajar apa sih conducting itu, dan bagaimana cara untuk memimpin sebuah ensemble ataupun dalam skala besarnya yaitu orkestra.

    What is your favourite piece to play? Why?

    My favourite piece is Romeo and Juliet (Fantasy Overture). One of the most magical pieces I have ever performed with an orchestra. The audience can understand the story of Romeo and Juliet without having to read William Shakespeare's original version. The music can portray a very deep emotional connection.

    Piece favorit saya adalah Romeo and Juliet (Fantasy Overture), kenapa itu jadi piece yang paling menarik untuk saya, karena salah satu piece magical yang menurut saya pernah bawakan. Karena dari orang-orang yang bisa mendengar hasil karya tersebut, piece itu bisa menceritakan sebuah kisah Romeo and Juliet, tanpa kita harus mengerti dulu atau pernah membaca dari kisah Romeo and Juliet karya William Shakespeare-nya sendiri. Di situ dapat digambarkan bahwa banyak cerita dan adegan dengan penjiwaan yang sangat dalam.

    What is the best piece of advice another musician ever gave you?

    How we, as conductors, should not only provide guidance, but we also have to listen a lot more to others. Personally, I understand the need to interact with other musicians because sometimes the conductor is too focused on the music, but forget to socialize. The relationships between musicians in an orchestra are much more important.

    Bagaimana kita sebagai conductor tidak hanya selalu memberikan direksi, tapi kita juga harus banyak mendengar. Jadi listen more to the other musicians. Trus, dari situ kita juga jadi, saya khususnya, jadi tau bagaimana cara berinteraksi dengan musisi karena kadang conductor mungkin lupa dan terlalu fokus untuk sisi musiknya, kadang lupa untuk bersosialisasi dengan musisinya. Karena hubungan di antara musisi dalam orkestra itu jauh lebih penting menurut saya dari pada musik itu sendiri.
